About
Our Story
At The Canopy Collective at Treehouse and Roots & Roam, our approach is rooted in Montessori and strengthened by nature, community, connection, and hands-on exploration. Through a Whole-Child Ecosystem model, we nurture the spirited child and foster a deep relationship with their environment and community.
A Whole-Child Ecosystem is an educational approach that honors the child as part of an interconnected system rooted in developmentally appropriate practice and nourished by relationships, environment, and community.
At The Canopy Collective, learning does not happen in isolation. Children grow within a living ecosystem that includes their inner world, their educators, their peers, the natural environment, and the broader community. By intentionally weaving Montessori principles with nature-based exploration, meaningful relationships, and community connection, we support the intellectual, emotional, social, physical, and ethical development of each child
Mission
At The Canopy Collective at Treehouse and Roots & Roam, our mission is to cultivate a culture where curiosity and wonder flourish. We serve families in Northern Colorado through education grounded in authentic Montessori practice and a whole-child, integrative framework that weaves nature, connection, and community. Children grow with intention, supported by experienced educators who honor the beauty and responsibility of this work with humility and care.
Purpose
Our purpose is to ignite a lifelong love of learning through intentional, hands-on experiences and relationships that connect communities across ages and backgrounds. We approach education as a living, breathing practice, an ecosystem that grows alongside the children, families, and environments we serve.

“As a parent, one of the most difficult decisions one can make is who to trust with your young child’s care and education. We were recommended to Treehouse by faculty members at Colorado State University who teach future teachers education methods and publish research on how we can best educate and inspire young children. Treehouse has exceeded our expectations for helping to educate and inspire our daughter. We view Sarah, Crystal and the entire team at Treehouse as family. We feel like we are part of a community at Treehouse and not merely customers.”
